Coastside Museum

Half Moon Bay, California

Client: Half Moon Bay History Association
Size: 1,100 square feet
Services: Exhibit design, graphic design direction, content development and final text

The history of California’s Coastside region goes human scale in this teaser exhibition. The museum board presented The Exhibits Dept. with an empty building and a challenge: create a flexible display to show the region’s history while also allowing for a larger, permanent exhibition to come. Our solution was a series of freestanding silhouettes—with bold color and graphic design—to anchor major historical periods. Tactile props and repurposed artifact cases complete the design.
